C. SARAVANAN, CORRESPONDENT & MANAGING TRUSTEE
Aged 43, is from a middle-class family of Mittur Village in Tirupattur District. His father was a Foreman in the State Electricity Department. After getting a Diploma in Engineering, Saravanan was employed for a few years, before he was drawn to Social Service. He along with his likeminded friends founded Manam Malarattum Trust and started running Tuition Centers in several villages in Tirupattur District.
Later he was drawn by the teachings of Swami Dayananda Saraswati and became an ardent devotee of the Swamiji. Following Swamiji’s advice and with His support Saravanan started “Sandya Gurukulam” – evening Study Centers in as many as 70 remote villages to teach Yoga, General Knowledge, etc., to school going children and also to inculcate reading habit in them.
Later on, with a view to impart high quality & values based formal education to the children of the Tribal, Dalit and other Underprivileged Communities, with the support & guidance of the Swamiji, Saravanan’s Manam Malarattum Trust established Dayananda Vidyalaya which became operational in 2012. His intimate knowledge of the people and the geography where the School is located, his undying optimism in the face of adversity and his strong faith in the divine guidance of Swami Dayananda are the strengths he brings to the table as the Managing Trustee of the School.
Dr.BADRI SESHADRI, TRUSTEE
Badri Seshatri (born June 30 , 1970 ) is a publisher and political commentator from Tamil Nadu . He is also one of the founders of the popular sports website ESPN Cricinfo . He was the founder of Eastern Publishing House , an archeologist and a pioneer of computerized Tamil.
Born in Kumbakonam , Badri Seshatri completed his schooling in Nagapattinam and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai in 1991 and his PhD in the same field from Cornell University, USA in 1996 .
Cricinfo India Pvt Ltd launched ESPN Cricinfo website for the sport of cricket. He was its founding director for some time. In 2004, he founded New Orison Media , a Tamil book publishing company, and is currently its editor and publisher. He is the Managing Director of Synprosoft and the Director of HR Management Company RK. Produced and published free software such as NHM Writer and Font Converter on behalf of his publishing house . He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Publishers Association known as Babasi , held various positions in the technical forum Uttamam and was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Tamil Internet Education Association . He has been raising awareness of archeology through the Tamil Heritage Foundation, an archaeological trust. He runs the online magazine East Today.

Dr.Sivaganesh D

Aged 41, is from a middle-class family of Periya Kurumba Theru Village in Tirupattur District. His father is a farmer. Sivaganesh completed his Primary education in his native village and obtained his Secondary and Higher Secondary in Vaniyambadi. He was completed his Bachelors Degree in Tamil in Chennai Presidency College and Master Degree in Department of Tamil Literature and Culture in the University of Madras. Then he completed his Bachelor degree in Education. Later he concentrated in Research field and did his Master of Philosophy in the topic of ‘Ethinography of Kurumba’ and he continued his Ph.D Research with University Grants Commission – Junior Research Fellowship in University of Madras under the guideship of Prof.V.Arasu.
His Ph.D topic is ‘History of Tamilology : Colonel Colin Mackenzie Manuscripts’. Also, he completed Diploma courses in Dip.in Manuscriptology and Editing, Dip.in Folkloristics and Mass media, Dip.in Inscription and culture.
Now he is working as a Post Graduate Teacher in Government Sector. He also functioned as an author of Higher Secondary – Second year Tamil Textbook of Tamilnadu Government and Tamil Textbook for abroad students in Tamil Virtual Academy. He has been a author of Tamil Journal ‘Maatruveli’.
